 You have come to Mount Zion (Assembly)

God has given us access to be in fellowship with Him. With this fellowship comes all the blessing of the assembly

Verse: Hebrews 12:22‭-‬24

22 No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. 

23 You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. 

24 You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.

The assembly of people is precious to God. And the first time, God calls the people together is the Exodus

Verse: Exodus 19:5

Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.

This call of God is for a "special" designation. God is celebrating His people. What does the calling and celebration of this Assembly mean?

  • Place of Protection/Security
  • Place of Blessing
  • Recording of details


Place of Protection/Security

God is passionate about his assembly. And God takes seriously any threat from the enemy.

Verse: Matthew 16:18

Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

This security is described in the below verse

Verse: Isaiah 4:5

5 Then the Lord will provide shade for Mount Zion and all who assemble there. He will provide a canopy of cloud during the day and smoke and flaming fire at night, covering the glorious land.

The assembly is protected by the cloud by day and fire by night..... This protection means healing, security for your family/children etc

The speaking of the Word of God in our assembly protects us from foolish actions. Most often our troubles are created by our own doing.... But the Word protects us.

Place of Blessing

God bless us in the assembly (Mount Zion)

Verse: Psalms 128:5

May the Lord continually bless you from Zion. May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live.

What is blessing mean? This blessing means overall satisfaction in life. The blessing may or may not mean riches. But the peace of God fills our lives.

God makes a note of our name in the book of life

This recording of information is important because it means access to the heavenly Zion

Conclusion

If we understood the benefits of the assembly of God's people before thier God, we would never miss this. Do not take this lightly! We us make every opportunity to part of the assembly of God

Morality Standards A picture is painted of a potter fashioning clay to his liking. And this animated picture brings life to the clay, with the clay protesting the Potters's design. This surprised Potter asks "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" Jeremiah 18:5 NIV It seems completely reasonable and moral that the Potter is allowed to shape the clay to his design and liking. Conversely it is unreasonable and immoral for the clay to protest the Potter's design.   "You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!"
