SundaySermon - Benny - The Fervent Prayer

The Fervent Prayer When we talk about prayer, we cannot ignore Elijah. And James refers to him as a person who prayer earnestly. Verse: James 5:17-18 17 “Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.  18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.” The story of Elijah is written in 1 Kings 17 and 18. The wonders he performed probably gave him a supernatural image… But James wanted to correct this…. Elijah was an ordinary man…. But he prayed earnestly Prayer is effective not because of great men who pray…. But because of a great God who hears our prayers. We often give credit to humans who pray rather than God. And this way, we make the people who pray as small gods.  What are we doing with our prayers? What did Elijah do differently?…. The fervent prayer? What does that mean? Define fervent: it is something that you do with passion. The wo...

SundaySermon - Prince - The God Vessel

The God Vessel The Bible draws a picture of vessels and different vessels have different purposes. Verse: 2 Timothy 2:20‭-‬21 20 In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use.  21 If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. We are vessels who fulfil a specific purpose..... to hold God within us. And hence we are The God Vessel.... The God Carrier The Bible fulfilled His purposes through different vessels.... one of them was Paul and he was to carry God's message to the Gentiles. Verse: Acts 9:15 15 But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. When people meet you, do they take away the God that you carry? If you a...

SundaySermon - Lawrence - Time, Seasons and Opportunities

Time, Seasons and Opportunities Verse: Genesis 8:22 22 As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.” God gives us different experiences in our life. These experiences are always good because God is good. And when God looked at the Sun, Moon, earth, the stars.... and he said that it was so good. Verse: Genesis 1:31 31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good !    Here is who Solomon classified the times.... but it is good in its own time. Verse: Ecclesiastes 3:1,11 1 For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. 11 Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time . Jesus would operate and do things in the right time.... and at times, he refused to move because it was not the right time. So we need to be mindful and take the opportunity Verse: Isaiah 55:6 6 Seek the Lord while you can find him . Call on him now while he is near . God is near us a...

SundaySermon - Prince - The Pure Virgin

The Pure Virgin God likens the church and our individual lives to that of the Bride. And the Bridegroom and the Bride are devoted to each other in complete  and undivided purity. Verse: 2 Corinthians 11:1‭-‬3 1 I hope you will put up with a little more of my foolishness. Please bear with me.  2 For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband—Christ.  3 But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. Are we devoted to God? The Corinthians were sidetracked and Paul was worried that they were asking the wrong questions. The disciples asked the wrong question as well. Verse: Matthew 18:1‭-‬2 1 About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”  2 Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. And Jesus urged them to look to the child.... a symbol ...
