Transformational Heart - Mark 7

Embracing Discernment and rejecting deception

Verse: Mark 7:14-15

[14] Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “All of you listen,” he said, “and try to understand. 

[15] It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.”

When Jesus is calling to listen carefully, he is really telling them to listen with the heart.

Discernmenet is the key in guarding our heart

His leading

A discerning heart listens to the Lord

The Lord alone can peel the layer of deception and help us diagnose the real agenda behind the heart.

His approval

A discerning heart is content heart with the Lords approval

He does not give in to superficial praise or seek attention. he is at rest in knowing who he is, his place in the plan, and God's purpose.

He is content with his heavenly father's aproval. He does not fall for human approval or flattery.

His guidance

A man or woman with a discerning heart is straightforward in his walk and life.

There is absolute clarity and no place for confusion or indecision

Clarify brings conviction. And conviction helps in making those courageous choices.

We cannot expect perfect people to be around us. ut we can always expect our perfect heavenly father to guide, lead and cover us.

All this happens because of deception 

  • Decption that damanges
  • Decptions that dreails
  • Dections that discourages.

Transformational Heart - Dealing with Deception

First, we have to deeply ingrain the truth in our hearts that the Lord has already accepted us no matter what and no matterwho rejects us.

When He was hanging on the cross, the Lord already saw our sins and frailties and welcomed us.

Two - We need the word

Third - We fuel our pride deep inside.

The humble can never get hurt. It is always the proud who get hurt

We always think we are correct, and pride gets into our way of thinking. 

Fourth - We are willing to evaluate and cross check only those actionsor thoughtswe think that needs examinations.

We are eager to bring only some of the views to the table and give thought to others points of views.

We stick to our view as right. 

Fifth, We do not do thinkgs in our dialy life based on deep convections that arise from a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.

We spend a lot of time talking to the Lord and seldom pause and listen to the lord speak to us and heal our damaged inner script.

Kill the Babies!!!

Morality Standards A picture is painted of a potter fashioning clay to his liking. And this animated picture brings life to the clay, with the clay protesting the Potters's design. This surprised Potter asks "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" Jeremiah 18:5 NIV It seems completely reasonable and moral that the Potter is allowed to shape the clay to his design and liking. Conversely it is unreasonable and immoral for the clay to protest the Potter's design.   "You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!"
