Happy Men's Day!

Happy Men's Day!

Celebrating people is important because it builds community, strengthens relationships, and creates a culture of gratitude and appreciation. We all celebrate Women's Day. However, men often are not excited about any kind of celebration meant for them. That is because we are already having such a good time.... and every day!!! We don't need a special day. Here are some examples

Men can call upon higher powers to validate their claims.

With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness. My conscience and the Holy Spirit confirm it." (Romans 9:1)

This is very helpful in situations where our plans fail. So we compare our word, to unwavering Word of Jesus himself

18 As surely as God is faithful, our word to you does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” 19 For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. (1 Corinthians 1:18-19)

Women stick to yes and no because they know that anything more is from the evil one. All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ anything beyond this comes from the evil one. (Matthew 5:37)

Men get to remind others ... who the boss is (arrogance)

This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead. (Galatians 1:1)

Paul being the apostle is not an issue. However, when reminders like this, followed by disregard of the laying on hands by men (Acts 13:3) displays arrogance.

While woman take the role the servant, just like Jesus was a servant of the rulers

The Lord, the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel says to the one who is despised and rejected by the nations, to the one who is the servant of rulers: (Isaiah 49:7)

Men can adopt double standards - Lawsuits

The standard adopted by the church was to bring any questions and disputes to the church leaders.

When one of you has a dispute with another believer, how dare you file a lawsuit and ask a secular court to decide the matter instead of taking it to other believers. (1 Corinthians 6:1)

However when questions, related to themselves come up, men are allowed to shut them down citing traditions. (I guess that all, that church traditions are good for!!!)

But if anyone wants to argue about this, I simply say that we have no other custom than this, and neither do God’s other churches. (1 Corinthians 11:16)

Women should however make all attempts to resolve differences even if it meant accept defeat and injustice

Even to have such lawsuits with one another is a defeat for you. Why not just accept the injustice and leave it at that? Why not let yourselves be cheated? (1 Corinthians 6:7)

Men are owed the people's souls

When addressing problems of division, no one should take up individual names because everyone belongs to Christ. Christ alone brings salvation

Some of you are saying, “I am a follower of Paul.” Others are saying, “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Peter,[d]” or “I follow only Christ.”. 13 Has Christ been divided into factions? Was I, Paul, crucified for you? Were any of you baptized in the name of Paul? Of course not! (1 Corinthians 1:12-13)

While women recognize that only Jesus was crucified for salvation of all mankind, men are owed soul of the people they minister to.

I, PAUL, WRITE THIS WITH MY OWN HAND: I WILL REPAY IT. AND I WON’T MENTION THAT YOU OWE ME YOUR VERY SOUL (Philemon 1:19)

And further, if you want to deal with people who are promoting themselves (promoting division), you can associate yourself with Paul and be proud of it. (This appears to contradict his position in 1 Cor 1:12-13). See verse below

12 Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart. (1 Corinthians 5:12)

Men can drive compliance in other people's homes using the Lord's name

That is why I am boldly asking a favor of you. I could demand it in the name of Christ because it is the right thing for you to do. (Philemon 1:8)

Throughout human history, men have always tried to control other people. Men won't stop with wars or violet conflict. They also resort to using God's name to give their ideas strength and drive compliance in other people's homes.

But stop using this phrase, ‘prophecy from the Lord.’ For people are using it to give authority to their own ideas, turning upside down the words of our God, the living God, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. (Jeremiah 23:36)

Why talk about this?

If Paul went wrong, all people (men and women) are susceptible to wrong practices. And why talk about this?

These things happened as a warning to us, so that we would not crave evil things as they did (1 Corinthians 10:6)

Let us be warned not to act like this. This warning is to both men and women because we can all crave for evil.
