Certain/Confident - means firmly persuaded or convinced - in Trustfulness in God's power and love. This power helps us to do good works. It God is behind this, then it is not our effort that makes this happen.  God began it and God will perfect - the good works The language will suggest that this is an ongoing work until we reach heaven.
