Mentoring The Sense of Destiny in our lives - George
Mentoring The Sense of Destiny in our Lives
Verse: Philippians 1:6
[6] And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Certain/Confident - means firmly persuaded or convinced - in Trustfulness in God's power and love. This power helps us to do good works. It God is behind this, then it is not our effort that makes this happen.
God began it and God will perfect - the good works
The language will suggest that this is an ongoing work until we reach heaven. There is a completion to this work. And that responsibility for this completion is on God .... because God started this work.
Has God started work on you? Then know for sure that God will not abandon you until he finishes the work.
The work is too big that you cannot rely on man.
God began the work of grace in the soul. What is soul? It is thoughts, decisions you make, and actions related to the decision - The soul is the very being.
God has begun a good work in our lives!!
People seek direction in life. What we desperately need howeveri s a profound sense of destiny.
We can't or won't see the big picture. We are inclined to think short term. The sense of destiny does at least two things for us.
- It orients us to wards the big picture of life.
- It steers us towards the long haul.
Going Long haul defines the wisdom.
The God we are to know
Knowing God and knowing about God are two different things.
The knowledge of God is compelling
Verse: Philippians 3:8-10
[8] Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ
[9] and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith.
[10] I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death,
This intimate relationship that promises a life changes experience.
A growing intimacy with God draws us unto a lie of obedience and freedom in Christ.
The life we are to live
Life is too short to live with compromises. We all have only one life to live. Without exception, noe of us can increase the lenght of our days.
A sense of destiny begins with a deep realisation of the brevity of life.
My life in my hand is a pain and problem, my life is God's hand is a power and possibility - E Stanley Jones
The purpose we are to Embrace
There is a reason why we exist. Life is too short to live aimlessly.
Drifting through lie on auto-cruise mode is not God' agenda for our life. We must live with the end in mind.
God's true ind of us is a transformed life in Christ.
To be confirm to the image of God son. That the purpose we have to embrace
We are to be a people who seek to know God.
