Hope is holding on to God's promise everyday.
Tiqvah (in Hebrew) Hope is more than just a dream, but rather an expectation and strong expression of Faith
Hope and Change is great political sloan, but is only Christian hope that anticipates the radical change God will bring to pass that will last for all eternity
Verse: Jeremiah 29:11
[11] For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Hope is unique to the living. Those who are dead have no hope.
Verse: Ecclesiastes 9:4
[4] There is hope only for the living. As they say, “It’s better to be a live dog than a dead lion!”
Hope is not wishful thinking. Biblical hope not a hope until you have the 100% assurance
Verse: Zechariah 9:11-12
[11] Because of the covenant I made with you, sealed with blood, I will free your prisoners from death in a waterless dungeon.
[12] Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles.
The book of Lamentation as the name suggests is a book of crying and sorrow. But there is hope in the midst of crying
Verse: Lamentations 3:24
[24] I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
And that hope comes from the our connection with God. And that connection is because we (man) were created in the image of God. We put our hope in something higher.
