What am I am reaching for? (Vision) The people of Israel lost their vision of the promised land and at several points in their journey voiced out their desire to go back Egypt. This caused for them to wander threw the desert 40 years. They failed to feed on the vision that God had for them. The vision that was communicated through the Word of God.   Verse: Deuteronomy 29:2-4 2 Moses summoned all the Israelites and said to them: Your eyes have seen all that the Lord did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials and to all his land.  3 With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those signs and great wonders.  4 But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear .  And they failed to understand or see with their eyes or hear with their ears the vision that God had for them.  Verse: Proverbs 29:18 18 Where there is no vision, the people perish:   If there is no vision in your heart, the consequences ar...

Seeking God one on one  How far can we go in seeking God? There are several people in Bible who sought God but one person stands out..... this is Jacob He fought hard in hand to hand combat with God. And God changed his name from Jacob to Israel..... "struggled with God and with humans and have overcome" Seeking God one on one involves Guard the affection of my heart Sober minded Being poor in Spirit Guard the affection of my heart Verse: Proverbs 4:23 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it We may be living our Christian lives perfectly. We do our Christian duties of prayer, reading the Bible. But all of this can happen mechanically and without love for God. So we need to guard our hearts to love God. Verse: 1 John 2:15-16 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father[a] is not in them.  16 For everything in the world— the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life —comes...

Go BEYOND as Jesus did How did Jesus go beyond? We need to understand how Jesus lived his life and we follow his ways. Jesus becomes our ultimate model Verse: 1 John 4:17 17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. We will look at three areas of Jesus and try to model our lives  What did Jesus seek? How did Jesus Pray How did Jesus Reach? What did Jesus seek? Jesus sought The Lost True worshipers Will of the Father Jesus sought the Lost Jesus had all the angels at his disposal. He could have commanded the angels to do the searching. But Jesus did the searching himself.  Verse: Luke 19:9-10 9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham.  10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” And so the the answer this question is .... "To seek and save the lost". And Jesus did this himself. The world today is lost ...

Faith in God and Love for one another (The Study of Ephesians) Paul made several missionary trips. Ephesus was one place where Paul spoke God's word. Acts 19 talks of this. They started as 12 people. They gathered for 2 years until God's word prevailed (Acts 19:20) Later Timothy was the pastor of the Church. The people of Ephesus were known for their Faith and Love (Ephesians 1:15) Verse: Ephesians 1:15   15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people,  Ephesians - Chapter 1 Paul founded this church and Paul is praying for the Ephesians. There are several things that he specifically prayes for  Thanking God for them (Ephesians 1:17) Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. (Ephesians 1:17) the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy (Ephesians 1:18) Know the incomparably grea...

Seek, Pray Reach BEYOND - Ephesians 3:20-21 The theme of the year is that as a church, we will together  Seek BEYOND Pray BEYOND Reach BEYOND Seek BEYOND PASSAGE: Exodus 33 In this passage, we know that the people of Israel were delivered from Egypt. And even after this salvation, they decided to make a calf in worship. And this sin brought God to place of loathing that he promised that he would not go with them again. The norm of the day was God would meet them in the Tabernacle Tent. But because of the sin, Moses made a Tent of Meeting so that he could go and meet with God. And all the people who sought God went along Verse: Exodus 33:7 7 Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. And off all the people who sought the Lord, there is a Joshua who is specially mentioned here. The people who saw God d...
