 Christ - Fully Formed

‭‭Verse: Galatians‬ ‭4:19‬

[19] Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.

There are many aspects and roles we play in our lives. We play a certain role in our family.... different role in work.... and possibly ministering at Church on Sunday. There are areas in our lives where Christ is fully displayed.... like our church and people we know. But God wants that Christ be developed and displayed in the fullness (all areas) of our lives.

Fully Formed Image

Verse: ‭‭Colossians‬ 2:9‭-‬10‬

[9] For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.

[10] So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

Christ while on Earth displayed God fully. God fully captivated all areas of Jesus life.... as a baby with the shepherds and wisemen visiting.... as a 12 year boy with the teachers of the law... as Rabbi to his twelve disciples ... as a convict, crucified on the cross. In journey of Jesus Life on earth, God was fully displayed.

Verse: ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:23‬

[23] Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.

Paul is urging for God to be fully developed in the spirit, soul and body..... every aspect of us should display God.

Here are some areas of our lives where Christ has to be fully displayed.

  • Spirit
  • Emotions
  • Relationships
  • Intellect
  • Vocations
  • Phycisal health and wellness
  • Resource Stewardship

What are being transformed into?

It is important to note that who we display. We idolize people who a perhaps leaders, pastors etc. But God wants us to display Him.‭‭

Verse: 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬

[18] So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

What is the display of God? It is the nature of God.

‭‭Verse: 2 Peter‬ ‭1:4‬

[4] And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

The divine nature is shared with us. Did Jesus reflect the nature and character of God?

‭‭Verse: Hebrews‬ ‭1:3

[3] The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

How are we transformed into His Image?

Often times, we emulate the people we admire. The admiration causes us to watch the person carefully. We are called to behold the glory of God. And this changes us.

Verse: ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬

[18] So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Moses was in communion with God so much so that the glory of God was reflected to the people. All Moses needed to do was to go to God and spend time in His presence. This transformation came about in Moses life without his knowledge. He knew his displayed God's glory when people told him that his skin was too bright.

‭‭Verse: Exodus‬ ‭34:34‭-‬35‬

[34] But whenever he went into the Tent of Meeting to speak with the Lord, he would remove the veil until he came out again. Then he would give the people whatever instructions the Lord had given him,

[35] and the people of Israel would see the radiant glow of his face. So he would put the veil over his face until he returned to speak with the Lord.
