Transformation (spirit)

The christian journey is an ongoing experience. Our journey starts with our confession that Jesus is Lord. But Christ needs to fully formed in our lives. 

Verse: ‭‭Galatians 4:19

[19] Oh, my dear children! I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives. 

This formation affects everthing about us - spirit, soul and body.

‭‭Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:23 

[23] Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 

If we need to expand on the spirit, soul and body, here are the areas it affects us.

  • Spirit
  • Emotions
  • Relationships
  • Intellect
  • Vocation 
  • Physical health and wellness
  • Resource Stewardship

We are forming and conforming to Jesus everyday. Let us ask the question.... where are we at in our journey of the full formation of Jesus??? Are we at 50%? 70%? 90%?

Spirit (of Man)

Spiritual Formation. This is the deepest part of each of us. This is infact the real you and I.

‭‭Verse: Genesis 2:7

[7] Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.

 The transformation begins in the Spirit.... the deepest part of each of us. We can feed this transformation and proceed into where God wants us to be OR we can feed the inner most part of us with Rumours, lies, fear etch

‭‭Verse: Proverbs 18:8 

[8] Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one’s heart.

So we need to guard what enters our inner most part with self control

‭‭Verse: Proverbs 25:28

[28] A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.

Sin and lack of self control brings about different spirits

Breached Spirit

Verse: ‭‭Proverbs 15:4

[4] Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

Haughty Spirit

Verse: ‭‭Proverbs 16:18

[18] Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.

Broken (Crushed) Spirit

Verse: ‭‭Proverbs 17:22

[22] A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

‭‭VerseL Proverbs 18:14

[14] The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit?

What is the solution to the condition of our spirit? The word of God

Verse: ‭‭Hebrews 4:12

[12] For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 

When the Spirit of God stirs up our spirit.... there will be an awakening to God

‭‭Verse: Haggai 1:14

[14] So the Lord sparked the enthusiasm of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the enthusiasm of Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the enthusiasm of the whole remnant of God’s people. They began to work on the house of their God, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, 

What gives access to the Spirit of the Lord to transform the spirit of man? It is the will of man. Unless we decide to allow the Spirit of God to work, that spark of change won't happen. If it that simple to have that spark of change, let us yield ourselves to the will of God.

Happy Men's Day! Celebrating people is important because it builds community, strengthens relationships, and creates a culture of gratitude and appreciation. We all celebrate Women's Day. However, men often are not excited about any kind of celebration meant for them. That is because we are already having such a good time.... and every day!!! We don't need a special day. Kill the Babies!!!

Morality Standards A picture is painted of a potter fashioning clay to his liking. And this animated picture brings life to the clay, with the clay protesting the Potters's design. This surprised Potter asks "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" Jeremiah 18:5 NIV It seems completely reasonable and moral that the Potter is allowed to shape the clay to his design and liking. Conversely it is unreasonable and immoral for the clay to protest the Potter's design.   "You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!" Isaiah 29:16 NIV And yet, we continue in our unreasonability and turn things upside down. Why does mere clay (or humankind), protest the Potter (or God) on morality.
