 Thy Kingdom 2

God intention for the whole world is to bring unity between earth and heaven. The unity for man is achieved because salvation that he brought to us.

But God purpose and plan is to bring everything together under the good plan of God

Verse: Ephesians 1:7‭-‬10

7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 

8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. 

9 God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. 

10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.

This unity comes when the Kingdom of God is reestablished. What does that mean? It means that the Kingdom was los. This was lost in the Garden of Eden

Verse: Genesis 1:27‭-‬28 

29 So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 

28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”

This lost Kingdom was once upon ruled by Man. And sin disrupted everything. 

And ever since that moment, we are in constant enmity wih Satan

Verse: Genesis 3:15

And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.”

And even now, sin causes our authority to be lost. Hence we need to constantly trust in Jesus so that we are washed from our sin.

And along with the authority, the creation lost its glory. And God's plan was to reintroduce the Kingdom. That Kingdom was Israel

Verse: Psalms 114:1‭-‬2

1 When the Israelites escaped from Egypt— when the family of Jacob left that foreign land— 

2 the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom.

And that Kingdom has a system in place. That system is the Word of God

Verse: Exodus 19:5,6

5 Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.

6 And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ This is the message you must give to the people of Israel.”

Saul was chosen as the frist King and he was expected to work with God to bring the Kingdom of God on Earth.

Verse: 1 Samuel 13:14

But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after his own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.”

But David fulfilled God's purpose

Verse: 2 Samuel 7:12‭-‬13

12 For when you die and are buried with your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, your own offspring, and I will make his kingdom strong. 

13 He is the one who will build a house—a temple—for my name. And I will secure his royal throne forever.

The Throne that will be established for ever is the Kingdom of God on earth. The son who fulfilled this, is Jesus

Verse: Luke 1:33

33 And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

This was spoken to Mary by the Angel of God. And these words have not been fulfilled yet. Jesus will need to sit on the throne of David. And when that day comes, the final purpose and plan will be fulfilled. That is when heaven and earth will be united. 

And who will be reigning with Jesus. It will be people who have been ransomed by the blood of the Lamb. Are we preparing ourselves?

Verse: Revelation 5:9‭-‬10

9 And they sang a new song with these words: “You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. 

10 And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth.”

Conclusion

Let us prepare ourselves to rule in the Kingdom of Priest.

Morality Standards A picture is painted of a potter fashioning clay to his liking. And this animated picture brings life to the clay, with the clay protesting the Potters's design. This surprised Potter asks "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" Jeremiah 18:5 NIV It seems completely reasonable and moral that the Potter is allowed to shape the clay to his design and liking. Conversely it is unreasonable and immoral for the clay to protest the Potter's design.   "You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!"
