 God's Ways

Deception is everywhere. This is because all man has sinned and we all have the sinnful nature in us. And realization of deception if realised late, causes damage. And often deceptions goes unnotices. And so the writter of Hebrews warns us

‭‭Verse: Hebrews 3:12

[12] Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. 

God's Way is good!

The context is when Moses led the people of Israel out of Egypt. They witnesses great miracles. But they never understood God and His ways. They murmured because of the unbelief in the heart. His ways lead them through times of hunger and thirst. Please remember that the way of God involves testing and teaching. Why was God trying to teach the Israelites? He wants our focus to be on things that are not of this world. We need to be heavenly minded. And God may lead us through this way but God is good! And his ways are good!

When we realize the goodness of God, we become overcomers..... we overcome the world.

Verse: ‭‭1 John 5:4-5

[4] For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. 

[5] And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Trust God's Ways!

Overcoming and victory over all areas of our life... Lust of the flesh, Lust of the eyes and Pride of life. And this is the victory that is the hardest to attain and cannot be done without God and recognizing His ways. Why should we fight and get upset with God because of our hard times? Recognize that God is shaping us. 

Our christian journey never ends until we reach heaven and see the King of kings with our own eyes. This journey is going to be hard but we need to keep fighting our murmurings. The Israelites murmured constantly and murmuring comes naturally to us. But we need to fight this and trust God that His ways are always good!  

‭‭Verse: Mark 4:38

[38] Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

The journey through life may involve silence and we are absolutely clueless. But Jesus is actually speaking to us through this silence. Here is what He is saying.

‭‭Verse: Mark 4:40

[40] Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

God's ways are not our ways!

We often forget that God's thoughts for us are numerous and is good. He has already throught through and planned our life for his purpose and greatness. Our planning may help us see 2 or 3 steps ahead. But God has planned everything before the world began.... many steps ahead.

And because we can't see all the way through, let us trust God. Don't let your own heart deceive yourself! Deception may come through false prophet. But we need to be mindful of the deception of our own hearts!

Our hearts can deceive us and worse.... it can be bitter! We become upset with the ways of God, especially when it does not satisfy us.

Verse: ‭‭Galatians 6:7-8

[7] Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 

[8] Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 

There is a sinful nature in us and often when we pray, we pray to satisfy this sinful nature. Instead, we need to pray to put to death our sinful desires.

‭‭Verse: Romans 8:13-14

[13] For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. 

[14] For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

Conclusion: God's way is life

We have different roles and responsibilities in our lives. We play the role of fathers, mothers, employees, employers, citizens. And these are roles that God wants us to fufill for ourselves and the people around us. The only way we can do this well is to rest in Him. We need to rest in God, trust his ways instead of being anxious of which way God will lead us.

‭‭Verse: Matthew 11:28

[28] Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 

We can either take up on His call to rest or‭‭

Verse: 2 Thessalonians 2:10

[10] He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. 

Let the truth set you free

Verse: ‭‭John 8:32

[32] And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Kill the Babies!!!

Morality Standards A picture is painted of a potter fashioning clay to his liking. And this animated picture brings life to the clay, with the clay protesting the Potters's design. This surprised Potter asks "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" Jeremiah 18:5 NIV It seems completely reasonable and moral that the Potter is allowed to shape the clay to his design and liking. Conversely it is unreasonable and immoral for the clay to protest the Potter's design.   "You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!"
