Christmas Wallhanging

(Maiden Mystery Mercy of Christmas)

The event of Christmas have 5 women (Maiden) as part of the introduction - Tamar, Rajan, Ruth, Bethsheba, Mary.

Mary was brave enough to accept God’s plan for her life. And that is why we have Christmas. The other women took bold steps and God brought this out. There were all women who didn’t enjoy a good repute among the people of her time.

Well, Christmas was a risk for the people at that time. It is a risk today as well.

Rahab

Rahab was a prostitute and was a woman of disrepute. She was also running a place to stay for travellers. And so she was also part of the conversations that happened at her place of business. And she had heard of Israel and the fright that captivated the people of Jericho.

Before the spies went to sleep that night, Rahab went up on the roof to talk with them (Josh 2:8)

The call of God lead her to divine appointment. She had to get to the two men and speak to them.

I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that the fear of you as fallen upon us…. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea. ….. For the Lord your God, He is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.   (Joshua 2:9-11)

Rahab took this opportunity and connect over this divine appointment to save her family.

13 No there for please swear to me by the Lord tht you will indeed show kindness to my family. (Joshua 2:14)

She of course had her part to play

18 unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down. (Joshua 2:18)

  1. All that she heard about theLord stirred her heart to be sensitive to the call of God on her life.
  2. By Faith, she risked her life save he spires, knowing that it will open the door of salvation for her entire bloodline.

Are we ready for this encounter and divine visitation?

31 By faith the prostitute Rahab because she welcome the spies in peace, did not perils with those who were disobedient. (Hebrews 11:31)

Scarlet Chord

The rope of redemption. This rope saved an entire bloodline. The rest of Jericho perished.

The story is told from outside sources of a Salmon (one of the spies). He married Rahab. Salmon was a man from Judah - a warrior.

5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth (Matt 1:5)

Rahab means - God has opened (the womb).

Let us make a connection with word and what the Womb means. The original Hebrew word is used for womb and mercy.

God is merciful and he is merciful because his love is a lot, not just from the heart, but from the womb. That is why sometimes mercy is translated as “womb love”. The womb love means mercy, tender, compassion, love. Mary sang of God’s love as the deepest love.

50 His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation. (Luke 1:50)

Mercy - Womb Love

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never senses; His mercies never come to an end; They are new every morning great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23)

Rahab appealed to this highest form of Love - the womb love and the Christmas story is the story of the highest love
