Year 2020

We made it through the last year in spite of the Pandemic.... being hard pressed, persecuted, in despair. And we made it though only because of the treasure inside of us - JESUS. We end the last year thanking God for his protection. And every experience of ours is to reflect that treasure to the world outside.

Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:7-8

7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 

8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 

9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 

10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 

Year 2021

Verse: Numbers 6:24-26

24 The Lord bless you and keep you;

25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;

26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

The verse talks of 

  • Provision: The Lord will bless you
  • Protection: and keep you
  • Proximity: The Lord turn His face
  • Peace: and give you peace

Background: When this God spoke this word, the people of Israel came out of Egypt and were camped at the base of Mt Sinai. There were a lot of things that happened while they were there.... and not all pretty things. And now they were embarking on a journey into the promised land. And the Lord is proclaiming His blessing on His people. The blessing was spoken on by the Aaron and the priest. 

How do we receive the blessing that is spoken on you?

  1. Align yourself for the blessing to fall on you
  2. Plug the leaks
  3. Proclaim it

Align yourself for the blessing to fall on you

God is no respecter of person. All people are alike before him. And the blessing is poured out equally. And yet the outcomes on people are different. This is because some people align themselves to the outpouring of His blessing. Fall in line for His blessing to overflow

Plug the leaks

The are things in our life that will drain our energy. It is important to find the leaks (i.e. recognize), and plug it (i.e. address this) 

Proclaim it

It is important to proclaim and speak the blessing of God on ourselves. There is something that is created within us when we speak the word of God on our lives. Hence you can follow the same pattern of proclaiming the blessings as Aaron and the Priest did.

Theme of the New Year: Networking for Good works

Verse: Mark 2:12

12 He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

The disciples witnessed things they have never done before. And God is inviting us to experience this. And the way forward is to do/action new things to have our new experiences.

What is it that we need to action? We need to action the desires that we have in our hearts. And the desire that is in your heart is unique. Discover this and put it to action.

Happy Men's Day!

Happy Men's Day! Celebrating people is important because it builds community, strengthens relationships, and creates a culture of gratitude and appreciation. We all celebrate Women's Day. However, men often are not excited about any kind of celebration meant for them. That is because we are already having such a good time.... and every day!!! We don't need a special day. Kill the Babies!!!

Morality Standards A picture is painted of a potter fashioning clay to his liking. And this animated picture brings life to the clay, with the clay protesting the Potters's design. This surprised Potter asks "Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?" Jeremiah 18:5 NIV It seems completely reasonable and moral that the Potter is allowed to shape the clay to his design and liking. Conversely it is unreasonable and immoral for the clay to protest the Potter's design.   "You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!" Isaiah 29:16 NIV And yet, we continue in our unreasonability and turn things upside down. Why does mere clay (or humankind), protest the Potter (or God) on morality.
