You are worthy!!!

When God made the earth, the most beautiful of his creation was Man. We as Christians know that Man is the highest of His creation. But often we feel unworthy. And the reason for this unworthiness is sin.

The different ways the world handles this situation, is to substitute the description of our condition with pleasing words. We call sin as 'way of life', 'preferences', 'your truth'. Perhaps this makes us feel good for a while. But your true worthiness comes only when sin is removed. That can happen only through Jesus.

This masking of our actual condition is 'lies'. See how Jesus addresses lies as it should be.

Verse: John 8:44

44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

So let us listen the Father in Heaven (truth)  and his call, rather than father of lies.

Verse: Isaiah 1:18-20

18 “Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

19 If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat.

20 But if you turn away and refuse to listen, you will be devoured by the sword of your enemies. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Mephibosheth

The nature of dynasty is that people born in the family will always have a royal place in the society. But Mephibosheth though born in the royal family was fallen, crippled and in hiding. This is all because the sin of his father. Please remember, your actions may also affect your children and the next generation.

Passage: 2 Samuel 9:1-13

Verse 1 One day David asked, “Is anyone in Saul’s family still alive—anyone to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”

The kindness is show to this 'fallen, crippled and in hiding' person  for Jonathan's sake. Why should we be shown kindness at all? For the sake of His son Jesus!!! You are worthy

Verse 7 “Don’t be afraid!” David said. “I intend to show kindness to you because of my promise to your father, Jonathan. I will give you all the property that once belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will eat here with me at the king’s table!”

God is calling us to this truth everyday just like Mephibosheth was to eat with King David everyday. This call may be intimidating because God is holy. But God is saying 'Don't be afraid'.

Mephibosheth also calls himself a 'dead dog'. But this description that he was holding on to weighed him down. But God is showing us that we don't need to carry this. We are called to freedom to enjoy the fellowship at His table

Verse: Ephesians 1:7-8

7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.

8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

Call of God

Listen to the call of God. He is calling you worthy. Any other description of you (whether by yourself or others) is a lie. And because you are made worthy, let us enjoy the fellowship of God at His table!!!

"You are my son, you are my daughter..... Come!"
